Express Managed Services in Sunderland has added six staff to its ranks and is looking to recruit another four to its 18-strong team. The electrical, mechanical and IT services company said the growth has been fuelled by its decision to focus on services and hardware and to exit the retail sector. It also recently relocated from Birtley to West Quay Court, Sunderland.
“We’ve had a busy year with the relocation and fulfilling contracts – one of the reasons we’re recruiting more staff,” said managing director John Hopkinson. “In four years we’ve increased our turnover from £700,000 to £1.8m, and it is our intention to grow that figure to between £2.5m and £3m in the next 12 months.”
Express Managed Services is a supplier to Nissan and also works with SNOP UK, an automotive components manufacturer in Sunderland. Councillor Paul Watson, of Sunderland City Council, said: “The Company’s strong links with the automotive sector will thrive in Sunderland, which aims to be a global hub for both automotive manufacturing and offshore renewable development.”
